Athens
Airport - On Wednesday March 29th 2001 this
new airport opened to service the Athens and surrounding
area. It is approximately 40 minutes to drive from
to the city of Athens from the airport. This airport
has all the modern up to date facilities for its passengers,
including a variety of shops for whatever you need,
plenty of places to stop and dine in and business
services for the traveling professionals. If you are
need of assistance just stop at one of the help desks
in the airport and they will be glad to be of assistance
to you.
To get from the airport to the centre of Athens there
are a variety of ways you can choose from. You can
travel from the airport via taxi which start from
Door 4 of the Arrivals Level and extend up to Door
1. You will also be able to travel by train into the
city. The trains run every thirty minutes. There are
also three bus lines that go into the city and they
all depart from the designated area in the Main
Terminal Building outside the Exit (doors
4-5). You will also have the option of renting a car
to complete your travel to your destination. Ask your
hotel if there are shuttles available to and from
the airport for the most convenience.
This will be your first experience in Athens, the
Athens International Airport hopes
you will like the way they have updated their airport.
